Dr. Cristina Rosetti  Ph.D., 2017

Dr. Rosetti received her Ph.D. in 2017. After one year as a Visiting Professor at Claremont McKenna College, Rosetti was offered a tenure-track Assistant Professorship at Dixie State University. Her research looks at the history and lived experience of Mormon fundamentalists in the Intermountain West, and the impact of marginalization and criminalization on these communities

Dr. Justin Rose Ph.D., 2017

Dr. Dr. Sean Sagan graduated with his doctorate from UCR in 2017. His dissertation is titled, “Only a Tract: The Production and Distribution of Evangelical Gospel Literature and the Construction of Social Boundaries.” He is currently an Adjunct Professor of Patristics at Byzantine Catholic Seminary of Saints Cyril and Methodius. He also serves as the pastor of Saint George Melkite Greek-Catholic Church in Birmingham, Alabama. 

Dr. Sean Sagan Ph.D., 2017

Dr. Dr. Sean Sagan graduated with his doctorate from UCR in 2017. He is currently a lecturer at California State University, Long Beach, and a Praxis Consultant at Leaderology, an organization which provides executive coaching and leadership development. 

Dr. Allison Solso Ph.D., 2015

Dr. Solso graduated with her doctorate from UCR in 2015. Her dissertation is titled, “Beyond Memento Mori: Understanding American Religions Through Roadside Shrines.” Solso is currently faculty the Department of Humanities and Religious Studies at Sacramento State University.

Dr. Harold Morales Ph.D., 2012

Dr. Solso graduated with a doctorate in Religious Studies from UCR in 2015. He is currently an Associate Professor & Director of the Center for the Study of Religion and the City in the Department of Philosophy & Religious Studies at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland.  Dr. Morales' research focuses on the intersections between race and religion and between lived and mediated experience. He uses these critical lenses to engage Latinx religions in general and Latino Muslim groups in particular. Dr. Morales is now focusing on developing public scholarship initiatives through his research on mural art and social justice issues in the city of Baltimore and through the Center for the Study of Religion and the City for which he received a generous grant from the Henry Luce Foundation. 

Dr. SJ Crasnow, PhD, 2017

Dr. Crasnow received their doctorate in Religious Studies from UCR in 2017. They are currently an Assistant Professor of Theology and Religious Studies at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO. Crasnow regularly teaches courses on the religions of the world; Judaism; Islam; and religion, gender and sexuality. They are currently at work on a book project that is tentatively titled "Envisioning a Queer Judaism: Negotiating Normativity and Innovating Tradition."

Erin Routon MA, 2013

Routon received her MA in Religious Studies at the University of California, Riverside in 2013. She is currently a doctoral student in the Department of Anthropology at Cornell University. Her research interests include: im/migrant detention and incarceration; migrant aid work and legal activism; border studies; material culture; emotion and emotional labor; and gender.

Rachel Howell, MA 2011

Howell received her MA from UCR in 2011. After receiving her degree, she went on to teach at Ashford University for a number of years. She currently works as a Degree Audit Analyst at University of Colorado, Boulder.

Dr. Kelly Meister Brawn, MA 2010

Dr. Kelly Meister Brawn received her MA in Religious Studies from UCR in 2010. She went on to earn a doctorate from the University of Chicago in 2018. She currently works as the Head of Programs and Community Engagement at Life Science Cares, an organization fighting poverty in the greater Boston area. 

Natalie Winslow, MA, 2009 

Winslow graduated with a masters degree in Religious Studies from UCR in 2009. She went on to co-found New Why Web + Marketing: an online marketing platform that supports businesses and organizations aiming to create real change.  

Sarah Schwartzman Ramsey, MA 2009

Schwartzman Ramsey graduated with an MA in religious studies from UCR in 2009. After graduation, Schwartzman Ramsey taught English, Religious Studies, and Composition courses. At Scripps College, she handled the administrative coordination for a collaborative liberal arts interdisciplinary curriculum. At Aims Community College, she developed faculty development programs on the Faculty Teaching and Learning Center team; she also served as co-chair for the Equity and Inclusion Council. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in English Literature at CU Boulder.
